Dear SMCA Community,
It is with a grateful heart that I write to you as I prepare to join South Merrimack Christian Academy. My wife, Carolina, and I are truly honored and excited for what lies ahead.
Returning to New Hampshire, a place I once called home, feels deeply personal. In many ways, this transition feels full circle. While our recent journey has been shaped by the increasing need to care more closely for my mother as she faces dementia and Alzheimer’s, we have seen God’s hand clearly guiding each step. What began as uncertainty has become a season marked by clarity, provision, and peace.
Education has long been both a passion and a calling in my life. Having served as both a teacher and a school leader across a variety of settings, I value the opportunity to strengthen and grow a school through the lens of an educator, grounded in a deep understanding of the classroom and the daily work of teaching and learning. At the same time, Christian education holds a unique and foundational place in my heart. The opportunity to walk alongside students in their growth, both intellectually and spiritually, is not simply a privilege, but a calling that God has clearly placed on my life. I have seen firsthand the lasting impact that Christ-centered schools can have in the lives of children and families, and I am excited to build upon the strong foundation at SMCA as we pursue all that God has in store.
From our first conversations, it was clear that SMCA is a special place. The foundation built by Ken, the staff and teachers, the School Board, and the church community is strong, mission-driven, and deeply rooted in what matters. It is an honor to step into a community with such a clear sense of purpose and commitment to Christ-centered education.
This process has felt like a true God-ordained alignment. We have been encouraged in ways that have affirmed what we believe God is doing in this next chapter. We are especially looking forward to being on campus later next month and beginning to connect with many of you in person. The opportunity to step into the life of the school, build relationships, and start this journey together is something we are truly excited about.
While leaving our current community in Maui to care for my mother was not something we anticipated, we trusted that God would provide. Seeing Him open the door to SMCA has been a powerful reminder of His faithfulness, and we step into this transition with both humility and confidence in what lies ahead.
I look forward to meeting each of you, learning alongside you, and building upon the strong foundation already in place. It is a privilege to join you in the work of educating and shaping students for lives of faith, character, and lasting impact.
With Thankfulness,
Eric Seguin
