Ken Amador has been involved in Christian ministry leadership for over 35 years. Prior to coming to South Merrimack Christian Academy as the school administrator, Ken was the Head of School at West Bay Christian Academy in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Before that, he was a professor of New Testament studies at Boston Baptist College and spent twenty-one years as a chaplain in the United States Navy until he retired from the reserves in 2020. Ken is a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

 

He has completed his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and Master of Divinity degrees from Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, and studies toward his doctorate in Christian Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

 

He has two grown children, Trevor and Mikenna, and has been married to his beautiful wife, Gwendolyn, for over 38 years.

Nancy lives in New Boston, NH with her husband Bill and three daughters.  Their twin girls, Charis and Allie, are now in college, and their youngest daughter, Christi, attends high school at SMCA. 

 

Nancy and her family have attended Merrimack Valley Baptist Church for the past twelve years, where all have served in different capacities throughout the years.

 

Prior to having children, Nancy worked as a Systems Administrator in Long Island, NY.  Transferring to New Hampshire, Nancy continued her career as a Systems Administrator until having her children. 

 

For the next thirteen years Nancy was a full-time homemaker and homeschooling mom, but recently has joined the SMCA community serving as the Office Manager and Admissions Director.

Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Art in Social Work and Counseling in 2001. While Working at her first job, and getting married, she decided to pursue her next degree. She began her Master's Degree in Social Work a year later and completed that program in 2005 from Boston University. That same week her daughter was born and over the next 15 years, she worked per diem at various settings in the field of social work. God brought the Adams to SMCA in 2017 when they enrolled both of their children and have appreciated and valued Christian education.

Shortly after joining the SMCA community, Alyssa filled the role of Volleyball Coach and has taken on several new roles since then. Alyssa will continue to fill the role of Athletic Director and coach volleyball. She loves fitness, played collegiate golf, and loves spending time with her husband of 20 years and her two teenage children, Brooke and Luke.

Brielle lives in Amherst, New Hampshire after recently returning from Kalispell, Montana where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Canvas College. She has had many opportunities to practice counseling within the ministry field. Brielle interned at Canvas Church in Kalispell, served for two years at the Wilds of New England Christian Camp, volunteered at Upreach Therapeutic Riding Farm, and worked at the Lighthouse Christian Home for adults with mental disabilities, helping with direct care and behavioral plans. 

 

Christian counseling is a passion of Brielle’s as the relationship between faith and counseling is undeniably intertwined. Although this is her first year with the school, her siblings have been attending SMCA since 2020 and her family has attended MVBC for several years. She loves gardening, spending time with her family, cooking, and crocheting.
